Atlanta Chiropractor, Dr. Austin Cohen

“It’s powerful and exciting,” says Dr. Austin Cohen. “I change people’s lives by not just getting rid of their pain but by making them feel great again! I consider myself privileged to make such an impact on my patients lives.”

A passion for chiropractic

Dr. Cohen's passion for Chiropractic began around the age of twenty-two. After meeting a chiropractor and observing him in practice, he saw his vision of becoming a chiropractor and running his own clinic. The great results his patients have had have resulted in him getting published in multiple magazines, newspapers, radio spots, and local television.

Dr. Cohen began his pre-chiropractic education at Virginia Commonwealth University where he studied the basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses.

Chiropractic education

After completing his study there, he was accepted at Life University in Atlanta, Georgia. During his four years at Life, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Life University Public Clinic. After graduating in 2009 Dr. Cohen stayed in the Atlanta area to establish his practice.

Since starting clinical practice, in order to provide ever-higher levels of patient care, Dr. Cohen has attended courses taught by world class practitioners. This has resulted in special interests including Clinical Biomechanics of Posture and the treatment of postural correction. He aims to exceed your expectations in health care, helping you achieve clearly defined health goals without the use of drugs or surgery.

Life outside the clinic

Dr. Cohen grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, and now lives and practices in Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a member of the Buckhead Business Association, the International Chiropractic Association, and the Georgia Chiropractic Council.

Dr. Cohen keeps himself healthy and fit with regular Chiropractic care, training for triathlons, and crossfit.  “Your spine needs regular check-ups, just like a car or your teeth. Regular care and maintenance along with exercise will keep you at your peak for many more years”.

Dr. Cohen Asks some important questions of interest to Atlanta residents - Chiropractor Atlanta Dr. Cohen Asks...

Why does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.
Are chiropractors just concerned with the spine?
Our interest in the spine is because it covers the major communications conduit between your brain and your body. As a Atlanta chiropractor my job is to locate areas (usually along the spine) that interfere with proper nerve communications to and from your brain. Chiropractic adjustments help restore nervous system integrity. In this way, chiropractic care can affect the function of your entire body.
